Donna Jo Pauli Buckmiller was born February 15th, 1930 to Fern Beatrice and Paules Pauli Sr. in Salt Lake City, Utah and was one of five children. She attended school in Salt Lake and her greatest achievement was being appointed editor of the children's page called "School News and Views" as representative for the grant school in the Salt Lake Tribune, setting her goal for her future as a newspaper journalist.

Donna married Howard Buckmiller at a very young age and was a stay at home mom for 25 years. When the children left home she entered the business world and had a career as a commercial insurance underwriter for the next 25 years, retiring from Golden Eagle Insurance.

She loved good movies, cooking, and sewing handmade clothes for herself, family, and friends. She met many celebrities, including Robert Ryan, and through her husband's position in the music world she had the pleasure of living in Boston, Seattle, and Chicago. But she always said there was no place like San Diego, where she lived for over 50 years.

Donna is survived by three daughters, Jessie, Linda, and Betsy; as well as her dog Sweetie.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Howard, and two sons, Scott and John.

Donna will be interred next to her husband at El Camino Memorial Park.
