Gerald J. McCabe, Sr., of Zephyrhills, Florida, formerly of Lowell died December 13, 2020 after a long courageous battle with cancer.
Gerry was married to Karen (Greenwood) Flynn for 24 years.
He was the son of the late Charles McCabe and Mary (Lynch) McCabe.
He grew up in the Acre section of Lowell on Broadway Street.
He attended St. Patrick's Elementary School and graduated from Lowell High School with the class of 1955, then went in to the Air Force for 4 years and was proud to be a veteran.
When he returned from the military, Gerry became a Lowell Police Officer encompassing all departments of Policy duty, Patrolman, Motorcycle duty, Swat, Criminal Bureau and ended his career as an Arson Investigator for the City.
He attended Northeastern University and graduated with a degree in Law Enforcement. When he retired, he moved to Zephyrhills, Florida.
Besides his wife he is survived by his son Gerald, Jr. of Florida, nephews Ed McCabe of Lowell and Bob Stonis of Billerica, nieces Sandra Conrad of Dracut and Jeanine Stonis of Billerica. He was very fond of his step-daughter Eileen Meal and her husband Keith and grandson Tommy.
He was predeceased by three brothers and two sisters.

I believe the city of Lephyrhills, Florida is a typo. There is no "Lephyrhills"...and when researching I find he lived in Zephyrhills, Florida, so I changed it in the Bio and added it as the place of death.
