Shorty was born on January 31, 1939, to Vodie and Doshie Adair. He proudly served in the U.S. Army and was a member of Safe Haven Baptist Church. Some activities that he enjoyed were gardening, watching nature, and catching fish every now and then. Shorty valued spending time with family, friends, and especially his great-grandchildren. He had a servant's heart, was a jokester, and could be quite stubborn.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving family which includes, his granddaughter, Josie Adair-Cupples (Edwin) of Independence; two sisters, Margaret McElroy of Rossville, TN, and Carolyn Emerson of Ripley, TN; and three great-granddaughters, Adley, Maebry and Weslynn Cupples.
He is preceded in death by his wife of approximately 50 years, Theresa Adair; his son, Michael Adair; two sisters, Brooksie Escobar and Mary Jane Tatum; two brothers, Bodie Adair, Jr. and Jerry Wayne Adair and his parents.
