Sandra Lois Gessel Anthony passed away on Monday, October 2, 2006 at home surrounded by her loving family in West Valley City.

Sandra was born December 2, 1938 in Logan, Utah to Fredrick Henry Gessel and Lois Helen Dobbs Gessel. She graduated from Cyprus High School and L.D.S. Business College.

She married Earl Calvin Anthony on May 1, 1959 in the L.D.S. Salt Lake Temple. Mom's main interest was her children! Family get-togethers, trips to Disneyland, ballgames, dance recitals and weekend barbeques were what she lived for. Her overall concern was for the well-being and success of her children and grandchildren. In addition to her own family, mom's door was opened to every kid in the neighborhood. There wasn't a day that went by that mom wasn't worrying about someone else in addition to her own family. Mom's hobbies were her children, her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. Mom was a very kind and loving person. She will be missed by all those who knew her, including her dog, Midnight and cat, Gracie. The family wishes to take this time and thank all those who were a friend to mom. Mom returned home after a short courageous battle with Angio Sarcoma. Mom's favorite line was "It's A Small, Small World".

Sandra is survived by her loving husband, Earl Calvin Anthony; children, Cynthia, Matthew (Laurie), Jannifer (Daniel) McLaughlan, Michael, Suzette (Tod) Buckner, Tiffanie (Wynn) Erickson, Brandon (Tonya) and Brittan (Amanda); siblings, Ted, Basil and Lynn Gessel; 21 grandchildren and three great-grand-children. She is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Lois Gessel.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. in the West Valley Sixth Ward Chapel, 3963 South Peachwood Drive. The family will receive friends at a viewing Wednesday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South, and one hour prior to the service at the Ward.
Entombment: Valley View Mausoleum.
REST IN PEACE.
