A light just went out of this world - now Heaven is a much brighter place. ESTELLE MARY FINCHER left this place on earth surrounded by family and friends at Middle River Health Center on Friday, September 6, 2013, in Hawthorne, Wisconsin.
Estelle was born September 27, 1917, in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, to Herbert and Cadder Adkisson. She had lived in Marlow for over 80 years before moving to South Range, Wisconsin, in 2010. She attended Oaklawn and Central High schools. Estelle married Jessie Cecil Lamb. He preceded her in death. She later married Melvin (Dugan) Fincher. He also preceded her in death. Estelle was also preceded in death by her parents.
Estelle worked at Graves Drug and Newberry Pharmacy as a sales clerk for over 42 years. She was very involved in her community as a member of the VFW Auxiliary, Marlow AARP, B&PW, and the First Baptist Church where she sang with the Silvertones choir. Estelle loved sewing, working with her many flowers and visiting many friends and family.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Adkisson, Don Acton, Jack Andrews, Rod Andrews, Godfrey Baldwin, John Calhoun and Larry Brown.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 12, 2013, at the Glory Bound Church in Marlow, with Rev. Arbuary Ritter, Rev. Woody McClendon and Rev. David Woods officiating. Burial will be in the Marlow Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow.
