He was rabbi of Beth El Temple Center in Belmont, Massachusetts for 36 years. Rabbi Grollman became curious about grief at a young age after not being allowed to attend his grandfather's funeral at age 14. He once said that "obsessing about death can lead to paralysis, while ignoring it can squander opportunity. The important thing about death is the importance of life. Do what you have to do now.
