Rites Here for Accident Victims
Funeral arrangements were completed here today for the four victims of a train-truck collision yesterday at Grapeland.
A fifth person injured in the wreck, nine year old Nancy Sue walling was described as in poor condition at John Sealy Hospital in Galveston.
All the dead and injured riding in a truck which was struck broadside at 8:30 a.m. Monday by the Missouri Pacific's Texas Eagle,streamlined passenger train as it went from Palestine to Houston.
Final rites for Mrs. Forrest Walling and her three daughters, Virginia, 17, and Paula and Pamela, twins, 2, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hassell and Foster Chapel here with the Revs. U Van Sickle of Elkhart, J. L. Shaddix of Arp and J.S. Turner of Grapeland officiating in the joint service. Burial will be in Myrtle Springs Cemetery near Elkhart.
Pallbearers will include Jim Bridges, Lewis Bridges, Lee Bridges, Charles Bridges, Pridgen Brown, John Gunnels, Warren Baker, Pierre Renaurd, J.D. Axum, Lina Pierson, Shelby pierson, Earl Whitley, W.A. "Cap" Curry, Harold Walling, Billie Rials and W.T. Rials, Jr.
Mrs walling 39, was born in Grapeland, the daughter of S.S. Rials and Mrs. Vennie Kyle Rials. She was a graduate of Grapeland High School. Survivors include her husband Forrest Walling, Grapeland; two daughters Loretta and Nancy Sue, both of Grapeland; father S.S. Rials, Elkhart; four brothers,J.R. and E.M. Rials, both of Crockett; E.S. Rials of Artesia, New Mexico, and W.T. Rials of Elkhart.
Sisters included Mrs. E.G. Broome, Houston; Mrs. W.T. Grigsby, Elkhart; Mrs. S.A. Pigg, Fort Worth.
Virginia and twins Paula and Pamela were all born in Anderson County. Virginia was a senior student at Grapeland High School.
Bodies will remain at Hssell & Foster Funeral Home until time for the rites.
