Beau Arndt, 18, of rural Americus died Saturday morning, Dec. 15, 2007, of a gunshot wound while hunting. Service arrangements will be announced by Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home.
The funeral for Beau Mitchell Arndt of rural Americus will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Harvest House of the Flint Hills Christian Church. The Rev. Dave Hintz of the church will conduct the service. Burial will be in Fruitland Cemetery, west of Americus. The coffin will remain closed.
Memorial contributions to Hunter Safety Education may be sent in care of the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, P.O. Box 175, Emporia, KS 66801.
Mr. Arndt died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2007, of a gunshot wound while hunting. He was 18.
The son of Robert L. "Bob" and Christine M. Stout Arndt, he was born Dec. 18, 1988, at Emporia.
Mr. Arndt began working at the Emporia State University Security Office as part of a work-study program when he entered ESU as a freshman student this past fall. His duties included writing parking citations on campus.
He graduated from Northern Heights High School in May of this year. He attended his senior year at Northern Heights and his freshman through junior years at Emporia High School. He was a member of the baseball teams at Emporia High School during his three years there and at Northern Heights. He had helped others to learn how to hunt and appreciate the outdoors.
Mr. Arndt is survived by his parents; his brother, Seth L. Arndt, and his sister, Annabelle Arndt, both of the home; and his grandmother, Eleanor "Grammy" Stout of Emporia. His grandparents, Lewis "Poppa" Stout, and Bud and Frieda Arndt, died earlier.
