Vernon Lawler. A private funeral was held Monday at the O'Brien-Rogers and Crosby Funeral Home for Vernon W. Lawler, 84, of 1905 E. Fourth St., who died Saturday in a Reno hospital. He was born Oct. 5, 1894 in Illinois. A Reno resident for the past 41 years, Lawler was a retired railroad switchman.
Survivors include sons, C.R. Lawler of Sparks, A.B. Lawler of Missouri and G.W. Lawler of Kansas City, Kan.; daughters, Nina E. Buckley of Albuquerque and Nancy Peterson of Missouri; eight grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Cremation was at the Masonic Memorial Gardens Crematorium.
