Carole was a native of Greensboro, born September 9,1940, daughter of James and Ruby Roberts. Carole's talents in music, dance and the dramatic arts were apparent from an early age as she often performed for teachers and classmates at Hunter Elementary School. Those gifts along with her gregarious and tenacious personality have blessed the lives of all she touched. This was especially true for her late husband, Ewing Mortimer (Mort) Hamilton, six children and twenty-three grandchildren. Carole was the most devoted and loving mother and Nana who cherished family and faith above all else.
Carole was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in many capacities from dance program director, youth Sunday School teacher, Young Women's leader, to music director and choir member. She served a full-time mission in historic Nauvoo, Illinois (2008-2010) and loved performing in musicals and guiding tours there. She attended UNC-G and sang for many years in the Greensboro Oratorio Singers' production of Handel's Messiah.
Carole was preceded in death by her eternal husband, Mort Hamilton, her parents James and Ruby Roberts, sisters Eileen English and Sheila Rumsey, grandsons Gabriel and Ammon Ide, and son-in-law Tom Crowe. Survivors include her children and grandchildren: Iris Crowe with children Cameron and Thomas; Phillip Hamilton with wife, Diane; Melanie Ide with children Brigitta, Gideon, Echo, and Elijah; Julie Abreu with husband, Dwinther and children Isabel (husband, Brandyn Frei), Giselle (husband, Antonio Aldridge), Marina, Rio, Genevieve and Ryker; Dana Pierce with husband Derek and children Riley (wife, Audrey), Noah, Christian, Dallin, Tanner and Calvin Pierce; Charles Hamilton with wife, Julee and children Seth, Jillian and Clark and many beloved friends.
