Delbert was born in Southampton, New York; he was the son of Chester and Adelaide Stachecki. At a young age Delbert loved working in the fields and farming with his father. He loved farming, hunting, trapping muskrats, his dog Smoke, spending time with his son and the Amish community whom he considered family. Delbert always had a story to tell you and even after that story was over he would gladly offer to tell you another one about his adventures in life. If you met him you were sure to remember him or at least one of his stories that he told you in your encounter. Towards the last years of his life he was found most nights at William and Melinda Miller's home having dinner with them and their children which gave him great joy.
Delbert is survived by his grandson Braden J. Stachecki of Dover, DE, his brothers Chester (Mary) Stachecki of Harrington, DE, Thomas (Gemma) Stachecki of Southampton, NY, his sister Carole (Edward) Johnson of Rock Falls, IL, and his brother Raymond (Patricia) Stachecki of Smyrna, DE along with many other nieces and nephews.
