Lita Mouhot Knotts, 41, died Saturday, July 13, 2002, in Jacksonville, Fla.
She was a native of Lake Charles. She lived in Tampa, Fla., before she moved to Jacksonville in 1980. She was an active member of North Jax. Baptist Church, where she faithfully served in the music ministry as a soloist and as a flute and piccolo player. She was the chief operating officer of the Jacksonville Cardiovascular Clinic.
Survivors include her husband, Ron Knotts; two sons, Ben Sweep and Jacob Sweep; three stepdaughters, Dawn Eilers, Heather Knotts and Kimberly Knotts; one stepson, Kyle Sweep; her mother, Mrs. Jo Mouhot; one sister, Sherilyn Byers; three brothers, Ed Mouhot, Ray Mouhot and Lon Mouhot; her mother-in-law, Mrs. Mae DeMatteo; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Herbert Mouhot of Lake Charles.
Her funeral was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 17, in North Jax Baptist Church in Jacksonville. Herb Reavis Jr. officiated. Arrangements were by Peeples Family Funeral Home of Jacksonville. Local services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 20, in Johnson Funeral Home. The Rev. Hugh Wallis will officiate. Burial will be in Prien Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation is from 9 a.m. Saturday.
