John (Bo) Robert Fonner, 89, of Pembroke Pines, Florida was safely ushered into Heaven on December 10, 2021 in Aventura, Florida, surrounded by his loving family.

Born, January 14, 1932 to William Henry Fonner and Marie Mildred Anthony Fonner of Washington, Pennsylvania. He was a WWII Army veteran. He married the love of his life Patricia Ann Winters on March 20, 1952 in Miami, Florida. He worked for 35 years with the City of Miami Police Department rising in rank from Traffic/Patrol Officer, and retiring as Colonel/Assistant Chief of Police. His education and professional training were obtained from Florida International University, University of Miami, Florida State University, The Southern Police Institute, FBI Training School and US Department of Justice.

He was a life-long learner and encouraged his daughters to learn something new each and every day. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed photography and family road trips. But his true joy here on earth was his family, his cherished wife, their five daughters and their grand and great grandchildren. They were his priority and he displayed that throughout his lifetime. In all of these it was his Faith in God that carried him through.

John is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patricia Ann Winters Fonner. Also, preceded in death by his parents, William Henry Fonner and Marie Mildred Anthony Fonner. Brother, William Charles Fonner, Korean War casualty and sister, Barbara Fonner Whelan.

John is survived by his five loving daughters, Linda Susan Fonner Elwell (Thomas), Patricia Marie Fonner, Mary Kathleen Fonner, Janice Ruth Fonner Tillman, (William), Robin Ann Fonner Hernlem (Fred). Sister Kathleen Holstein (Robert) Sisters-in-law Ruth Winters Tecler (Ben), Jane Winters Wright (Bill), brothers-in-law Donald J. Winters, Michael B. Winters, David P. Winters (Joy). Grandchildren, Amanda Elizabeth Brehm (Ian), Lauren Patricia Elwell, John Patrick Fonner, William James Tillman and Avery Fonner Poff. Great Grandchildren Delsin Bohdi Brehm, Ryleigh Emma Fonner, Bjorn Erhon Fonner and Penelope Elisabeth Fonner.
