Nita R. Abraham, 67, of Beverly PI., South Bend, passed away Friday, August 23, in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend.
Nita was born on December 26, 1934, in Mishawaka, as the daughter of the late Ora and Ida (Circle) Stafford.
Nita was also preceded in death by four brothers.
On Dec. 8, 1977, in South Bend, Nita married Charles A. Abraham, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Kathy (DJ) West of Niles, MI.; a son, Mike Davis and his fiancee, Carol Thompson of Mishawaka; three stepdaughters, Kim Reeves, Robin Ellezz and Charlene Wombe, all of N.C.; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three sisters, Louise (Paul) Praklet of Mishawaka, Marie (At) De Witte of Leesburg, FL, Wanda (George) Hayden of Melboro, FL; and a brother, John (Dorothy) Stafford of Leesburg, FL. Nita was a Nursing Assistant at Memorial Hospital for 25 years before retiring in 2000.
Nita enjoyed spending time with her two dogs, Heidi and Mindy.
She was a volunteer and foster parent with Pet Refuge. Nita was an avid Notre Dame fan and had a great sense of humor.
She will be truly missed by her loving family.
