She was a longtime member of Anchor Baptist Church where she and Brenda Cornelius took care of the music for several years. She was an office supervisor with SCAT in Arkadelphia for many years. One of her proudest accomplishments was her family whom she dearly loved.
Survivors are her husband of fifty-two years, John William Abernathy Sr.; two sons, John William Abernathy Jr. of Benton and Charles Abernathy and wife, Christina of Brown Springs; five grandsons, Landon, Sean, Blake, Bradley, and Tyler Abernathy; numerous step-grandchildren and one brother, Johnny Mallett and wife, Diane of Mena.
Visitation will be at 9:30 AM Friday, December 17, 2021, at Anchor Baptist Church at Brown Springs. Services will follow at 10:30 AM with Bro. Curtis Abernathy and Bro. Caleb Lewis officiating. The burial will be in Jones Cemetery.
