"Pearl E. Barnes, 87, died Jan. 19, 1990, in Heartland of Liberty Nursing Center, 1200 W. College St., Liberty, where she lived. She was born in St Marys, Kan., and had lived in Liberty since 1939. Mrs. Barnes was a member of the Harmony Homemakers Extension Club. She was a member of the Second Baptist Church, Liberty. Survivors include two sons, George 'Billy' Barnes of Liberty and Paul E. Barnes of Auburn, Calif.; four daughters, Claudine Pointer of Gardner, Kan., Darlene Theoboldt of Parkville, Jeanne Dreiling of Auburn and Lila L. Hull of Liberty; 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the church; burial in White Chapel Cemetery." The Kansas City Star, January 21, 1990
