---Clayton Chester Dwiggins, age 74, passed away Wednesday, December 8th, 2021, at the Veteran Affairs Nursing Home in Batavia, NY.
---Clayton was born in Alton, Illinois the son of Chester Francis Dwiggins, and Elizabeth Kathryn Dwiggins Nicholson.
---He is survived by his daughter Claire Dwiggins Yaple, and husband Joshua Yaple of East Amherst, NY and three grandchildren; Margaret Rose, Elizabeth Claire and Georgia Maria Camann (Dwiggins); two sisters, Rebecca Dwiggins Day of Ormond Beach, FL, sister Jayne Dwiggins Walker of Macon, MO, and brother Neal Dwiggins of Macon, MO; nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
---He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Spencer Dwiggins.
---Clayton was a Vietnam War veteran and a member of the Macon United Methodist Church. He was a third degree, Master Mason, of the Free Mason Scottish Rite. His hobbies throughout life included owning Airedale Terriers, martial arts, listening to MoTown music and Boston, and spending time with his daughter and granddaughters. He was proud of his daughter Claire, a psychiatric nurse practitioner, who followed in his footsteps in joining the military, U.S. Coast Guard branch.
---Memorial services will be 1:00 pm, Friday, January 7, 2022, at the Hutton and McElwain Funeral Home in Macon, MO. Visitation will be from noon, until the time of service, at the funeral home. Inurnment, with full military honors, will follow at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, MO. The family suggests memorials to the International Bipolar Foundation.
