John "Scott" Hackley, 56, of Odessa, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, December 16, 2021, at Overland Park Regional Medical Center in Overland Park, Kansas.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., on Sunday, December 19, 2021, at Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd Street, Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Monday, December 20, 2021, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Greenton Cemetery in Odessa, MO. Scott was born on April 24, 1965, in Lexington, MO to John William Hackley and Barbara Ann (Loy) Eicholz. After graduating from Odessa High School in 1983, he attended two years at the Lex-La-Ray Vo-Tech Center in Lexington, MO. On January 25, 1991, Scott was united in marriage to Janice (Frey) in Odessa, MO. He worked as a tool and die machinist for R&D Leverage. Scott was a member of the NRA. In addition to spending time with family and friends, he enjoyed guns, horses, farming, and deer hunting.
Survivors include his wife, a son, two daughters, four grandchildren, a brother, two step-sisters, a step-brother, an uncle, an aunt, two step-mothers, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
Scott was preceded in death by his parents; maternal grandparents; and paternal grandparents.
