Mrs. Daves

Mrs. Minnie Welch Daves, 66, died at the Greenwood-Leflore Hospital Saturday. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Rayford Duck officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Carrollton. Williams and Lord is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Daves was a life-long resident of Greenwood and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. She was the widow of William Thomas Daves.

Mrs. Daves is survived by four sons, Richard Carithers of Greenwood; Thomas Carithers of Seattle, Wash., Floyd Daves of Chula Vista, Calif., and Charles Daves of Itta Bena; eight daughters, Mrs. Elsie Sumerville, Mrs. Louise Mulvihill and Mrs. Shirleen Stokes all of Greenwood, Mrs. Mary Ann Harris of Gulf Breeze, Fla., Mrs. Patricia Heischer of Omaha, Neb., Mrs. Peggy Chiappetta of New Orleans, Mrs. Martha Andrews of Port Clinton, Ohio, and Mrs. Kathleen Pepper of Moorhead, three brothers, Andrew Welch, W. C. Welch and Bobo Welch all of Vaiden; two sisters, Mrs. Bessie Self and Mrs. Fannie Mae Gant both of Vaiden; 33 grandchildren and 14 greatgrandchildren.
