James "Jimmy" Dale Marks of Pascagoula, Mississippi passed away on Sunday, December 12, 2021.
Jimmy was born July 24, 1938, in Estico, Arkansas and grew up on Lake St. John in Ferriday, LA. A graduate of Northeast Louisiana University, he moved his family to Pascagoula, MS in 1963 to participate in the first graduating class of operators at the newly built "Standard Oil Company" refinery, now known as Chevron.
He retired from Chevron as a Shift Supervisor after 30 years. He loved his family, and he loved living on the coast where he spent much of his free time on his boat fishing and shrimping.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert W. Marks and Cora Ray Marks; his wife, Carol S. Marks; and his sister, Carolyn Marks Mayo.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Mike Crane of Mobile, AL; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Yvette Marks of Hurley, MS; son, David Marks of Pascagoula, MS; grandchildren, Eric Crane, Kathleen Marks and Jonathan Boothby; brother, Bobby Marks of Lake St. John, LA; brother, Freddy Marks of Vidalia, LA; brother-in-law Claxton Mayo of Monroe, LA; sister-in-law, Jo Ann Smith of Vidalia, LA; and many special nieces and nephews.
The family of Mr. Marks would like to express appreciation to the sitters and the hospice group for their care and compassion.
A small family ceremony will be held at a later date.
