Notice of death published in the New Orleans Times-Picayune on 28 January 1976:
PATTERSON – Joseph Clarence Patterson, on Tuesday, January 27, 1976, at 12:15 o'clock p.m., beloved husband of Louisa Simoneaux, father of Joseph Patterson, Mrs. Ray Thibodeaux, Mrs. George Doell, and Susan Patterson; son of the late Nicholas Patterson and Martha Kingsmill; brother of Nicholas, James and Adolph Patterson, Mrs. Rita Korndoffer, and the late Henry and Thomas Patterson, and Mrs. Isabel Osborne; also survived by 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, age 71 years, a native and resident of this city.
Relatives and friends of the family, also employees of the New Orleans Department of Sanitation, and New Orleans Police Department, are invited to attend the funeral. Services from Leitz-Eagan funeral home, Magazine at Philip (parking 2215 and 2300 Magazine), on Thursday morning, January 29, 1976 at 10 o'clock, followed by Requiem Mass at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call after 6 p.m. Wednesday.
