She was the daughter of George Walter Hyde and Ara Vick. Her family called her "Dorothy" or "Dorothy Mae;" her nieces and nephews called her "Aunt Dot."
She married James Carlton Babb 24 SEP 1938 in Chatsworth, Murray County, Georgia.
She and Carlton were the parents of 3 children: Larry, Jane, and Mike.
She was devoted to her family and friends, and was a terrific cook. I especially loved her fried chicken, her biscuits and gravy, and her fried okra. No one ever set a better table than she did!
