Special to the News, Waxahachie, Tex. Aug. 7. Word was received here today that J. H. L.("Uncle Johnny")Jackson of Maypearl dropped dead Wednesday afternoon in Chickamauga Ga. where he had gone a week ago to visit his childhood home.

His remains will be shipped to Maypearl for burial, but it is not known just when the funeral will be held, probably not before Sunday.

Mr. Jackson, 79, was a Confederate veteran and had been a resident of Ellis County for 58 years. He had settled in the Ozro community, three miles northwest of Maypearl, and became one of the largest landholders and most influential citizens of that community. For the past few years he had lived in Maypearl.

Mr. Jackson survived by eleven children, Ham, Henry, Tom, Albert, Sam, Calvin, Dr. W B. and Frank Jackson are the sons. The daughters are Mrs. Dora Cox, Mrs. Lula Wakefield, Mrs. Jennie Mosley. He has a brother, Albert Jackson. All these reside in Ellis County.

John Holland Lamar Jackson remains are buried on his home place which is private property near Ozro Cemetery. J. H. L. Jackson has a daughter Mary E. Jackson and infant grandson buried in same cemetery.
