Resident of Franklin, Wis., passed away peacefully on December 24, 2021, surrounded by her family after a courageous battle of cancer.

Sue was a long-time Deputy Sheriff for Milwaukee County, serving almost 30 years in the community. Upon retirement, she traveled with close friends, worked at Macy's and volunteered at the Milwaukee Theater. She loved the arts, a good book and going to a good movie. She learned how to sew quilts for those she loved and recently made pandemic masks passing them out generously with pride. She had an infectious smile that lit up a room and spread kindness to all around her. Sue loved to spend time with her family and friends and will be missed by all who loved her.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Alex and Catherine Abplanalp; and younger brother, Andy Abplanalp. She is survived by her brother, AJ Abplanalp (Deb); sister-in-law, Susan Abplanalp (Bob Walters); nephews, Brad (Paula), Aaron (Billie) and Nick (Sarah); and niece, Lauren (Burack). She was a devoted great aunt to her nine great-nieces and nephews; she was more than just "Aunt She"; she was like their grandmother. Sue cherished her many, many close cousins and friends.
