JOHN N. PETERS -- Death claimed John N. Peters, R. 4, West Bend, early Sunday, September 20, at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Cora Boden, R. 5, West Bend after a lingering illness. He was a retired farmer and an insurance agent.
Born in the town of West Bend on July 7, 1870, he grew up there and operated a farm for many years. In addition to farming he also served as a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 1964, West Bend, the Holy Name Society, and St. Peter's Society.
Mr. Peters and the former Christina Lang were married at Holy Angels church West Bend, on November 17, 1886. (Paper had 1986 as a typo) She preceded him in death on February 15, 1947.
Mr. and Mrs. Peters were the parents of five children, one of whom, Richard, passed away August 15, 1931. Surviving are: Mrs. Cora Boden, Erwin, R. 4 West Bend, Hildegard, (Mrs. Math Boden), R. 4, West Bend, and Elmer, also West Bend; a brother, Philip of the town of Polk (R. 4), 20 grandchildren, and 55 great-grandchildren.
Father Rayner Hausmann will officiate at funeral services for Mr. Peters in Holy Angels Church -- at 9:30 a.m. tomorrow (Wednesday). Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Schmidt funeral home after 2 p.mn. today (Tuesday) and the Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m.
