Born November 23, 1928 in Carmi to Bernard and Vivian Brockett.
He was a graduate of Joliet Township High School a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean War. He was the recipient of the Combat Infantry Badge, the United Nations Service Medal and the Bronze Star.
He retired from the Plasterers and Cement Masons Local 5 of Chicago after over 30 years of service.
Kenneth enjoyed woodworking, was an avid fisherman and also a loyal Cub fan.
Beloved husband of 55 years to Mabel I. (nee Hibner); Loving father of Kenneth A. (Vicky), Kathleen (Rev. David) Cunsolo, Ronald (Linda), Robert (Jeri), Christopher (Cathy), Lori (Steven) Thomas, James (Mary) and Jennifer (Douglas) Maier. Proud grandfather of 18 and dear "Papa" of 4. Also survived by a brother Wendell (Lura) Brockett , sister, Colletta (late James) Cronk and numerous nieces and nephews.
Kenneth M. Brockett will lie in state Friday, December 14, 2007 from 9:30 a.m. until the funeral service begins at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Morris, 1650 W. Rt. 6.
Interment with Military Honors will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.
