Beverly Whisnant Farrar, 87, passed away December 28, 2021 at Stanley Total Living Center. She was born April 9, 1934 in High Shoals, North Carolina, a daughter of the late James William Judson Whisnant and Lena Smith Whisnant. In addition to her parents, Beverly was preceded in death by her loving husband John "Jack" Franklin Farrar and her oldest son David Judson Farrar.
Beverly was a charter member of Chapel Grove Baptist Church. She had worked with Threads USA until March of 1968. She was active with Gaston County Home Extension through 2017. She proudly served as the Chief Judge of the Forest Heights voting precinct. Beverly was an avid doll collector and porcelain doll maker. She was well regarded for her baking and cooking talents and had numerous recipe publications.
She is survived by her son John "Scott" Farrar; daughter Lisa Farrar Kahler; daughter-in-law Leslie Nixon Farrar, all of Gastonia; brother Terry Garth Whisnant of Irving, TX; grandchildren Caleb Matthew Farrar, Joshua Logan Farrar, Zachary William Kahler, Andrew Seth Kahler; great grandson Andrew Graham Farrar and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 pm until 4:30 pm, Sunday, January 2, 2022 at McLean Funeral Directors. A funeral service will be held at 12:30 pm, Monday, January 3, 2022 at Chapel Grove Baptist Church with Revs. Seth Barkley and Roger Overton, Jr. officiating. Interment will be in Gaston Memorial Park .
