Charles G. Hanson, 74, died at his home, 236 South Fern, Saturday evening. He came to America from Sweden in 1870 and in 1900 came to Wichita. He was formerly manager of the Practical Clothes Hanger Company of this city.

He is survived by his wife, Bertha, and two sons, Henry J. Hanson, Hugoton, Kas; and Charles P. Hanson, 236 South Fern.

Announcement of funeral arrangements will be made by the Downing Mortuary later."

"Charles G. Hanson, 74, 236 South Fern, died Saturday. He came to the United States from Sweden in 1870 and from Medicine Lodge to Wichita in 1900. He was manager of the Practical Clothes Hanger company here, retiring two years ago. Mr. Hanson was a member of the West Side Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife Bertha; two sons, Henry J., Hugoton, and Charles P. Hanson, 236 South Fern; a sister, Mrs. Augusta Seaholm, Chanute, and two grandchildren."

According to family sources, he was the inventor of the wire hanger, but failed to apply for a patent, so it was granted to someone else.
