Mary was born on October 23, 1915 in Kankakee, Illinois to Harriet Wickens and August Charles Kirkman. She married Maurice Joseph Coleman. She was employed at the Bear Brand in Kankake, Il., and Joliet Arsenal. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for over 60 years. She was affiliated with the Asbury United Methodist church. She enjoyed latchhook, crafts, teddy bear collecting, beanie bear collecting, enjoyed reading Christian books and was an avid Cubs and Bulls fan.
Mary is survived by two sons and two daughters-in-law, Carl & Jan Coleman of Bradley, and Jim & Salli Coleman of North Carolina, one daughter and son-in-law, Carol & John Papineau of New Mexico, three granddaughters, Ronda & Bob Bond of Kankakee, IL., Julie & Tom Maschmeier of Lisle, IL., and Jodi & Chuck Wasselak of Homewood, IL., three grandsons, Joel & Penny Papineau of Kentucky, Rick Coleman of Lakewood CO., and Jason & Shannon Coleman of Oakdale, MN., seven great-grandsons, Neal, Nicholas, and Andrew Bond, Nicholas & Clayton Wasselak, and Joseph Papineau, three great-granddaughters, Catherine Wasselak, McKenzie and Tula Coleman and three step great-grandchildren, Nick & Eric Maschmeier, and Rachel Maschmeier and one niece Beverly Osenga. She was preceded in death by her husband, a brother Walter Kirkman, three sisters, Clara Jackson, Lyla Lancaster and Myrtle Vickery.
