Ben was born on November 23, 1924 in Randle, Missouri to Thelma Cutting and Samuel J. Hendrickson. He served during World War II in the U.S. Army. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Kankakee. He enjoyed making wine, raising birds [especially parrots], touring the neighborhood in his golf cart visiting with neighbors, gardening, model railroading and playing gin rummy. He was a past member of St. Paul's School Board and was on the board for building the Lutheran School in Kankakee in the mid 1970's.
Ben is survived by his wife, Merry Lou, who he married October 6, 1962 in Park Forest, two sons, Christopher Hendrickson of Kankakee and Daniel Hendrickson of Bourbonnais, two grandchildren Emilie and Will Hendrickson and extended family of Missouri and Nebraska.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Mildred Scowden.
