AL grew up in Matthews and graduated from Jefferson HS in Upland in 1949. He married Eloise C. Plasterer on Aug 7, 1955 in Matthews, IN. They raised their 5 children in Ft Wayne, Indiana and were long time members of Good Shepherd UMC. He worked hard to support his family with careers in delivery and industrial maintenance. Some of his employers were: Allen Dairy, Nickles Bakery, Troy Laundry, Perfection, and Holsum bakeries. He retired in 1995. AL loved the Lord, his family, and Indiana. He was cheerful and positive, calm, and supportive, and loved by all who knew him. An avid reader and enthusiastic learner, he always enjoyed sharing new ideas with his family. Some of his favorite sayings were: "Everybody's looking for a lift", which he was always quick to give, and "The greatest joy in life is helping other people", which he always did.
AL was preceded in death by his beloved wife Eloise, his brothers: Estel (Lillian), Merrill, Jack (Joy), Harvey (Neva) Frushour and sister Margaret (Gail) Rodgers, and brother-in-law Quentin (Barbara) Plasterer.

Visitation 6-8 pm Saturday December 8, 2020 at D.O. McComb and Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home 4017 Maplecrest Road, Fort Wayne, IN. Graveside service will be 1pm Sunday December 9, 2022 at Matthews Cemetery, Matthews, IN.
