He was born March 20, 1926 in Lavalette, WV, a son of the late Thorna and Indiana "Nanny" Ross Marshall. He was preceded in death by his first wife Angeline Ross--Marshall, a son Ben Marshall, a daughter Connie Marshall, 2 sisters, Reba Morris and Edna Artrip, 5 brothers Reese, George, Truman, Shirley, Mennis, and Thorna Marshall, Jr. He is survived by a sister Evelyn Marshall.
He was a retired carpenter, a member of the Full Gospel Church of God and the Gospel Music Association. He also received the Kentucky Colonel Honor for Music from the Governor of Kentucky. Glenn was an avid outdoorsman, but his first love was gospel music, having performed for many years with his children in the Legendary Marshall Family Gospel Singers.
Additional survivors include his loving wife of 15 years Virginia Hutchison Parsley Marshall, 4 daughters, Judy Marshall-Handy of Nashville, TN, Donna Damron and husband, James of Pickerington, OH, Brenda Scott and husband, Mike of Gallatin, TN, Sharry Marshall of Nashville, TN, 5 sons, David Marshall and wife, Crystal, Dan, Gary and Keith Marshall, all of Columbus, OH, Jesse Marshall and wife, Michelle of Suffolk, VA, a step daughter Jennifer Parsley McCauley and husband Kirk of Clarksville, IN, three step sons, Jeffrey Parsley, and wife Marti of Ft. Gay, WV, Greg Parsley of Dunlow, WV, and Grover Parsley, and wife Debra of Ft. Gay, WV. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 14 step grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
