Clara Bushyhead
Graveside service for Clara Ann Bushyhead was held Thursday at the Concho Cemetery with Rev. Gerald Panana officiating. Services were under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.
Clara died Jan. 5, 2022, at SSM St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City. She was born July 3, 1964, in Clinton. She was a graduate of El Reno High School.
Her employment with the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes was in various areas including public relations. Clara was a tribal representative on the board of El Reno Main Street. She was an advocate for tribal youth and spent many years working on programs that promoted substance abuse prevention.
Clara is survived by her children, Andy Mendez of El Reno, Connor Bushyhead of York, Pa., and Zachard Blackowl of El Reno; brother, Charles Bushyhead of El Reno; sister, Jesse Bushyhead of Clinton; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
