Her guardian, A. J. Hambangle, of Mentor, Indiana, had $300 of her money to cover all expenses of burial, and to ship the body to that place. Her child was found dead on the California-Santa Fe train March 1890, and because of the difficulty of getting payment from the relatives for burying the child, the undertaker died not care to advance the amount. Later the guardian wrote directing to bury her here, but failed to remit the amount.
Dora Groves, came from Indiana to Wellington, Kansas area, and met a young man Frank Burket, who was the son of Dr. Burket, of Kingman, Kansas. This relationship was distasteful and Mr. Burket committed suicided. She met his young brother Otto Burket, fell in love and were married. They did not live happily and she left him and went to Topeka penniless and died.
Her uncle Richard Joseph Grayson or Gregsons, of Wellington, Kansas, and Mr. Burket, father-in-law refused to pay any heed, to the dying woman, because she married contrary to their wishes.
