Mary was the daughter of Rev. Reuben Palmer and his wife Lucretia Tyler. She married Roswell Caulkins on December 17, 1814. Mary and Roswell had eight children: Reuben, Francis, Lucretia, Isaac, Orrin, Allen, Emma, and Mary Ann. Mary and Roswell's graves are listed on page 28 of the Connecticut, Hale Collection of Cemetery Inscriptions for Old Lyme, Duck River Cemetery, 315-1.

Gravesite Details

On the side of Roswell and Mary's gravestone are the inscriptions for four of their children, Francis, Orrin, Mary Ann, and Allen. Allen is not buried at this cemetery, he is at the Old Town Cemetery in Petersburg, Indiana (FAG I.D. 53551554).
