Faye Spakes, 86, went to be with the Lord on Sunday morning November 18, 2007. She was born on July 4, 1921, at Herbine, Arkansas, to the late Garland and Monnie Holderfield.
As the last surviving member of the Holderfield Family, she was preceded in death by her parents and eight siblings. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Clemon Spakes, to whom she married on November 16, 1940, and was devoted to for 65 years of marriage until his death.

She was survived by her three children, Roger (Trisha) Spakes of Pinebergen, Arkansas; Debbie (Wayne) Fontenot of Stonewall, Louisiana; and Lisa (Rick) Ferguson of Woodlawn, Arkansas. She had six grandchildren, Sha Hartz, Jill Fontenot, Curt Spakes, Meredith Ferguson, Brad Kappler, and Megan Kappler; and four great-grandchildren, Dylan Mooney, Alec Hartz, Addisyn Spakes, and Dustin Moreau.

Mrs. Spakes' greatest pleasures came from telling others about Jesus and cooking large meals for her family. Her precious Bible was never far from her reach, and she served the Lord with all her heart. She was a long-time, devoted member of Olive Street Baptist Church where she was a member of the SAMs Club and the Ladies Auxiliary.

Second cousin once removed of Virgil K. Knight.
