ROBERT J. HESTING
PORTAGE -- Robert J. Hesting, age 66, 3095 Hickory, died Friday morning at home.
A resident of Portage for 12 years, coming from Gary, Hesting was employed as a shipping clerk by Gary Works, U. S. Steel.
Hesting was past governor, past secretary and current treasurer of Portage Moose lodge 1900. He was a member of Nativity of Our Savior Catholic Church and CIO local 1014.
Surviving besides the widow, Wilma, are two daughters, Mrs. Robert Dutton, Portage, and Mrs. Harold Wendt, St. Petersburg, FL.; two sons, Ralph, Highland, and Frank, South Haven; a stepdaughter, Miss Mary Wyno, and a stepson, James Steel, both of Los Angeles, CA.; four brothers, Lawrence and Walter, both of Columbia City; Donald, Huntington, IN., and Ralph, Wabash.
Following prayer services at 9:30 a.m. Monday at the Olson and Frum, Portage, Chapel, mass will be conducted at 10 a.m. at Nativity of Our Savior Catholic Church with the Rev. Carl Mengeling officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery at Valparaiso.
Friends may call at the funeral home 7-10 Saturday, and until 2-10 p.m. Sunday. Family requests that memorial be sent to the Mooseheart Health Center.
