Hazel L. Hartley, 101, died Friday, March 19, 2004, in Country Arch Care Center in Union Township. Born: In Kearny, N.J., a daughter of the late Rudolph and Lilah Woods Roemer. Personal: Her husband, Hon. Fred A. Hartley, co-author of the Taft Hartley Law, died earlier. She had lived in Kearny, N.J., before moving to Alexandria Township in 1943. Survivors: a son, Fred Jack Hartley of Ft. Meyers, Fla. and Buckingham, Pa.; a daughter, Lorraine Spencer, wife of former mayor John Spencer, of Lebanon; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren. A son, well-known cartoonist Al Hartley, died last May. A brother, Rudolph Roemer, and a sister, Edna Mayer, both died earlier. Services: Services and calling hours will be Sunday in the Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home, 26 Main Street, Lebanon. Interment will be private.
