The above information was very hard to read and if correct would indicate that he was born on 30 August 1838 which conflicts with his death certificate.

Death Certificate says he was 83 Years, 10 Months and 14 days. This would have had him born on 14 September 1838

The following obituary was sent to me and the sender wrote "Attached please find Andrew C. Clawson's obituary I obtained from the Hackettstown library Hackettstown Gazette newspaper microfilm records. Date of death was 22 July 1922"
The obituary says the following
Andrew C. Clawson's Death
Following a long illness, caused by a fall and a fractured hip, Andrew C. Clawson died Wednesday night at the home of his son, William E. Clawson of 602 Moore street. His age was 83 years, one month and fourteen days. Practically all his life was spent at Schooleys Mountain and Hacketstown. He was a veteran of the Civil War, and served in Co. A, 15th Regiments, N.J. Volunteers, and was severely wounded in a battle. Funeral services will be held at two o'clock tomorrow afternoon from the son's home followed by interment in Union Cemetery. Rev. Mr. Neff of Trinity Church will officiate.

Funeral of Andrews C. Clawson.
The funeral of Andrew C. Clawson was held this afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home of his son, William E. Clawson, at Hackettstown.
Mr. Clawson aged 83 years, died on Thursday at the home of his son, William E. Clawson on Moore street, Hackettstown, of a complication of ailments incident to old age, and a broken hip, which he sustained sometime ago. He was a veteran of the Civil War, in which he was severely wounded. He is survived by one son William E. Clawson with whom he resided, and one stepdaughter, Mrs. Henry Wire of Newark.
