Funeral services for Frank Subyak, 15, of Blair will be conducted at 2 p.m. tomorrow Sep 26 at the Blair Freewill Baptist Church by the Rev. Elmer Nelson Jr. Burial will follow in the Mullins Cemetery at Sharples. (he had to be reburied at Lenore Memorial Gardens in Lenore when the coal mines came through the Mullins Cemetery). The body was to be taken to the residence at 2 p.m. today from James Funeral Home. A Sharples High School student, Subyak died Thursday morning Sep 21, 1967 in Guyan Valley Hospital as the result of injuries received the night before when he was struck by a car at Blair. Sheldon Eugene Baldwin, 26 also of Blair, the driver of the car, told the Banner that he was driving toward Logan and Subyak and two other boys were walking in the opposite direction facing oncoming traffic when the accident occurred. Witnesses were quoted as saying that two of the boys leaped to the side of the road, out of the path of the car, while the Subyak youth jumped onto the pavement. The victim was born July 24, 1952, at Blair, a son of Steve and Clara Collins Subyak. In addition to his parents, the child is survived by four brothers, Earl with the Navy in Calif., Edward of Flat Rock, Mich., and David and John, both at home and the maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John H. Collins of Blair.
