North Augusta, SC—Funeral Services for Mr. Thomas W. Rushton, Jr., 75, who entered into rest January 9, 2022, will be conducted Thursday morning at 10 o'clock from the Posey Funeral Chapel. Dr. Randy Cooper officiating. Interment will follow in Pineview Memorial Gardens with Full Military Honors.
Mr. Rushton was a life-long resident of North Augusta and member of the First Baptist Church of North Augusta. He graduated from North Augusta High School and attended Michigan State University. Mr. Rushton retired from the United States Air Force with 22 years of service. He loved to cook and eventually opened his own restaurant called Windows on Wisteria in Aiken. Mr. Rushton also worked as an independent mail contractor for many years. He was an avid golfer who loved the beach, beach music and most importantly his family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Frasch Rushton; his parents, T. Wilson and Doris Rushton, Sr.; a sister, Karen Rushton Robinson.
Survivors include three sons, Terry Rushton, Bryan Rushton and Mark Summers, all of North Augusta; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Verne and Shirley Rushton, North Augusta, SC and Clifford and Beverly Rushton, Graniteville, SC; four grandchildren, Morgan Rushton, Makenzy Rushton, Gavin Walker Rushton and Marcus Allen Green.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 5 until 7.
