Robert "Bob" R. Church, age 90 of Holton, passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at the Newaygo Medical Care Facility in Fremont following a long illness. Robert was born on October 8, 1931 in Sheridan Township to Verlo Deroy and Lenora M. (Kempf) Church and graduated from Fremont High School. Robert later met and married Eva G. Rupar on July 25, 1953 in Fremont. Eva preceded him in death on January 29, 2017. Bob served in the United States Army during the Korean War until his honorable discharge in 1955. Bob has been a lifelong resident of the Holton area where he had been a farmer all his life and enjoyed tinkering and working on his farm equipment. Bob was a no nonsense and frugal person and took great pride in his family, farm and his animals. He enjoyed riding his bicycle when he was in his 80's and traveling to Las Vegas after he and Eva's retirement. Bob had a special relationship with his grandson, Seth, gardening and working on the farm. The family wishes to express a special thank you to Jerry Church and Toni Rupar for the special visits and caring they gave to Bob over the past 4 years.

Robert is survived by his daughter, Kari (Dave) Finney of Holton; grandson, Seth (Sara Sullivan) Finney of Brohman; great-grandchildren, Connor Finney, David Finney, and Ellie Sullivan; his brothers, Gerald "Jerry" Church of Fremont; Bernie (Joyce) Church of Holton; many nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Eva; his infant son, Robert Allen Church; and his brother, Verlo Church.
