EMMA ELIZABETH ALLARD
Emma Elizabeth Reid was born in Grant, Iowa, March 26, 1862 and departed this life at the home of her son, George of Crookston, Nebraska, June 6, 1933 at the age of 71 years, 2 months, and 11 days.
She was married to G. W. Allard at Atlantic, Iowa, to which union were born 8 children, four boys, George, John, Carl, and Ira and 4 girls, Maude Sylvia, Grace, and Alice.
They came to Crookston, Nebraska in 1905, where she has made her home since. Mr. Allard and Grace preceded her in death.
She was a staunch Methodist, going the church when a young lady.
She leaves to mourn her death7 children; 26 grandchildren; and one great grandchild, also one step daughter, Mrs. Florence Herman of Des Moines, Iowa, besides a host of other relatives and admiring friends.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of her many friends and all those who knew her as Grandma Allard.
Funeral services were conducted Friday afternoon by her son-in-law, Rev. A. A. Smith of Grand Island, Nebraska. Interment was in the Crookston Cemetery.

Emma E. Reid was born in Grant, Iowa, March 26, 1862, to Allen W. and Hannah Ann Reid. She married George Washington Allard in March of 1885 in Montgomery County, Iowa. Nine children were born to this union, Rose Estella, George Oliver, Maude E., John William, Sylvia Marie, Carl Allen, Grace, Alice Blanche, and Ira Ralph. George died in September 12, 1909. Emma then moved to Crookston, Cherry County, Nebraska. She died June 6, 1933 in Crookston and is buried in the Crookston Cemetery. Preceded in death by her husband and Rose Estella Allard, who died March 25, 1881, both buried in the Old East Cemetery in Grant, Iowa and Grace Marshall of Crookston. Surviving are George and wife Margaret of Crookston, Maude Herman and husband Amil of Brownsville, Texas, John an wife Elva of Valentine, Nebraska, Sylvia Tate and husband William, Carl and wife Della of Valentine, Alice Smith and husband Arnold, and Ira and wife Jesse of Rapid City South Dakota. Also many grand children and great-grandchildren.
