Swedish musician. He was a cathedral organist, singer and music teacher. He was born in Källeryd Village in Barkeryd Parish, Smallands Province, registered there then as the son of Anders Magnus Petersson Bolander and Anna Greta Petersdotter Lindqvist. In a book about his son Bishop Nils Bolander, that paternal record was deemed incorrect by the much respected biographer Rev. Dr. Carl-Erik Sahlberg, who acknowledged that he actually was an extramarital son of King Carl XV of Sweden (Carl IV of Norway) and the mother named above. He moved to Stockholm with his mother already in 1872 and there studied under Gustaf Mankell. From 1874 to 1876 he was royal court organist. From 1876 he was acting cathedral organist in West Aros Parish (Västerås) and a music teacher there, becoming their regular organist in 1878. He was a good singer and musician and participated in the city's musical life together with bank manager Rudolf Gagge, and was also an examiner and judge of the progress of organ students. He married Hilma Maria Östling in 1887 (1865–1923) and they had three sons: Carl-August Bolander (1888–1969), Gunnar Bolander (1889–1964) and Nils Bolander (1902–1959).
