A. GARNET EGGLESTON,
KCS RY. CONDUCTOR,
DIES AT AGE OF 51
A. Garnet Eggleston, aged 51, Kansas City Southern passenger conductor, died at his home, 734 Grand avenue, Saturday morning at 6:55 o'clock from an attack of heart disease. Funeral services will be held from the family residence Sunday afternoon at 3:30, o'clock, with the Rev. E. L. Thompson, pastor of the Central Christian church and Rev. Wallace Wear, pastor of the Highland Baptist church, officiating. Interment will be in Forest Park cemetery under the direction of the McCook Brothers Funeral Home. Surviving the deceased are his wife, Mrs. Irene Gaton Eggleston, one son, A. Garnet Eggleston, Jr., a brother, J. L. Eggleston of Yardley, Pa., and a sister, Mrs. A. S. Coil, of Beardstown, Ill., who was at the bedside of her brother when the end came. Mr. Eggleston was born in Burlington, Wis., and has been a resident of Shreveport for the past 20 years, living at 734 Grand avenue during this time. He was a Mason, being a member of the DeQuincy, La., lodge. He was a conductor on the passenger train running from Shreveport to Port Arthur, Texas, and from Shreveport to Lake Charles.
