Her early years were spent in Florence, AZ, and Provo, Bountiful and Logan, UT. Donna and Rodney Galloway were married on Tuesday, July 25, 1972, in Logan, UT. They raised their family in Albuquerque, NM.
Donna's interests and talents were in family history, gardening, reading, teaching, and volunteering in the community. She earned a bachelor's degree in Botany/Zoology from Brigham Young University and later acquired a secondary teaching certificate from Utah State University. Donna was a Master Gardener for over 25 years through the New Mexico State University Cooperative Extension Service.
Donna loved to teach her grandchildren about gardening, raising chickens, and rock/gem collecting. Grandma Donna loved shopping for good deals and treasures for her grandchildren. She loved reading to them and spending time with them.
Donna was an active life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She served in the Stake Relief Society, and served as Stake Primary President, Young Women President, ward chorister, seminary teacher, ward librarian, and a visiting teacher. She served a mission with her husband for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints as an Employment Specialist at the Bishop Storehouse in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Donna was an avid supporter of being self-reliant and volunteered at the church cannery.
Donna volunteered at the New Mexico State Fair as a flower judge. Throughout the years she won several awards for canning, cooking, and gardening. Donna was a polling judge on Election Day. She was PTA president for Mark Twain Elementary school and later taught many school age children about gardening and composting through the Seed Program. She also participated in the Albuquerque Reads Program and taught many others how to read.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rose and Alma Pate; sisters, Rose Ann and Jeanne; brothers, Alan and Raymond; her daughter, Alisha Galloway; and son, Joseph Galloway.
She is survived by her husband, Rodney Galloway of Albuquerque, NM; and her children: Rachel Galloway Miranda of San Antonio, TX;, Brenda Galloway of Denver CO; Sarah Galloway of Mesa, AZ; and Benjamin Galloway of Logan, UT; her sister, Alice Nelson of Mesa, AZ; and brothers, Robert (Elaine) Pate of Logan, UT; and A John (Jack) Pate (Deon) of Provo, UT; and grandchildren, Emilie, Soleil, Albert, Chelle, and Jonathan Miranda.
