Mr. Elrod was born Sept. 2, 1919 to the late Charlie and Sallie Ann Elrod of Pikeville, TN. He had been a resident of South Pittsburg all his life where he had been a mechanic for Ford Motor Co. and later worked for the Dept of Sanitation for the city of South Pittsburg. He was a member of South Pittsburg Church of God. Mr. Elrod leaves behind a sister, Evelyn Smith, So. Pittsburg, five sons Horis Elrod, Brimingham, AL, Phillip Elrod , Englewood, TN, Ricky Elrod and Timothy Bookout Elrod, Athens, TN and Rod Elrod, So.Pittsburg, five daughters Dorothy Elrod Ellis, Yulee, FL, Sue Elrod Rhinehart, Fayettevill, TN, Janice Elrod Brodgen and Merita Elrod Thornton both of Etowah, TNSelina Ford, So. Pittsburg and a very special niece Sharon Elrod and her mother Pearl Elrod both of Jasper, TN. He was preceded in death by a daughter Wilma Elrod and two sons Billy and Allen Elrod.
