Son of James Donald and Eva Josephine Johnson Blanch. He grew up in Burley, ID. When he was 14, his family moved to Delta, where he met Marilyn Mae Murray. They started dating right away and were married in the Salt Lake City Temple on March 4, 1955. They moved to St. George for their honeymoon; then soon after, moved to California where he began steel working. He continued in this profession until retiring. He enjoyed participating in extreme sports. He was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints; his service included time managing the Bishops' Storehouse market and also serving as transient bishop. He had three daughters: Tony, Barb and Janet; six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
