He was born Oct. 9, 1917, in Chicago, to Henry and Marie (Jahn) Gehrke.
He was a 54-year member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 134.
Mr. Gehrke is survived by his wife, Betty Gehrke, nee Hanley; three daughters, Barbara (Dale) Marshall of Crystal Lake, Marilyn (Bruce) Olson of Vernon Hills and Kathleen (Brian) Rogers of Portland, Ore.; seven grandchildren, Megan and William Olson, and Matthew, Mary, Anne, John and Henry Rogers; and a sister, Helen Scott of Rolling Meadows.
The visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4, at the Kahle-Moore Funeral Home, 403 Silver Lake Road, Cary. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, at Saints Peter & Paul Church in Cary, with the Rev. Don Ahles officiating. Entombment will be at Windridge Memorial Park in Cary.
