Lloyd Wayne Groover, 89, of Danville, IN, transitioned to his heavenly home on January 26, 2022, surrounded by his family. He was born on November 22, 1932 to the late Walter and Mary (Harshbarger) Groover of Pittsboro, IN.

Mr. Groover proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Soon after he was honorably discharged, the Korean War came to an end after he flew in 50 combat missions as a tail gunner in a B-26. Lloyd married the love of his life, Nancy Adamson, on September 8, 1952. He was a General Foreman at Allison Transmission, where he was employed for 40 years. After retiring, Lloyd began his favorite hobby in woodworking. He enjoyed solving crossword puzzles from the newspaper, watching IU men's and The Pacers play basketball and loved watching old western movies starring John Wayne. He was a lifetime resident of Avon for 60 years. Lloyd faithfully attended church at Harvest Missionary Baptist Church in Danville.

In addition to his parents, Lloyd was preceded in death by a brother, Jewell Groover; sister, Christine Stephenson; and a son, Danny Ray Groover.

Survivors include his wife of 69 years; three children; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Friends and family will gather for Lloyd's life celebration and visitation on Monday, January 31, 2022 from 12 to 3 PM at Harvest Missionary Baptist Church, 4285 E. Main St, Avon. The funeral service will begin at 3PM with burial following at Spring Hill Cemetery in Cartersburg, IN.
